This is a question we get a lot, but it's a bit of a trickāquestionāthere's no one-size-fits-allĀ answer because many factors contribute to grip.
That said, after almost 15 years of experience, we've put together a hand grip aid kitĀ that works for most of our students. If you're unsure where to start, this checklist is a great place!

š§° Grip Aid Kit Checklist:
1ļøā£ A towel for your hands and bodyš¦
Pole dance is an intense physical activity, and sweating is completely normal! It helps regulate your body temperature, but too much can affect your grip. Keeping a towel handy to dry your hands makes a big difference.
2ļøā£ A small towel to wipe the poleāØ
The pole surface needs regular cleaning since sweat and grip aid residue can prevent proper skin contact. Wiping it down frequently helps maintain a solid grip.
3ļøā£ A small spray bottle of vodka (yes, really! š)š”
Sometimes, a towel alone isnāt enough to remove sweat and grip aid buildup. Thatās where vodkaĀ comes in!
It contains enough alcohol to clean the pole without drying out your hands
Itās unlikely to cause skin reactions
Unlike regular cleaning sprays, it doesnāt leave a greasy residue
ā ļø Using hand sanitizers on regular basis may seem like an option, but their high alcohol content can dry out your skin, making grip worse. We do have them to remove stubborn grip aid residue or in case of very sweaty palms, or just literally to sanitise the pole surface as per product's direct purpose.
How to use it:
Pour vodka into a small plastic spray bottle, spray some on a towel, and wipe the pole. Or if you are using a plastic bottle without a spray nozzle, just pour some on the towel directly.
Remember, vodka is a cleaning solution ONLYādo NOT drink it before or during class!Ā š«šø
4ļøā£ Hand grip pads **
There are tons of different grip aids out there, and itās often trial and error to find the best one for you. However, weāve found that the Lupit grip pad **Ā (with its fine powder) works well for most students.
⨠How to use it:
Tap the pinkĀ side on your palms.
Tap the blackĀ side on the pole
It gives a secure, non-sticky gripĀ without creating a thick product layer on your skin. Works for sweaty and dry hands!
P.S. We get it directly from the Lupit website** for ā¬17.99 EUR + Free Shipping. Grip pads come in various colours. On Amazon the same item comes to around Ā£30, which is a substantial saving worth waiting 2-3 days more with standard free delivery.

š“ What NOT to use:
Some products leave stubborn residue thatās hard to cleanāeven with strong chemicals.
Avoid using regular weightlifting grip powders, as they are too coarse and can strip the poleās chrome coating. Always use pole-specific grip aids!
5ļøā£ iTac2 wax **
For certain moves (e.g., knee or elbow grips, hip holds), you may need extra grip. Weāve tested many brands, and iTac2Ā is one of the best. It has a waxy texture that creates a sticky filmĀ on the skin, helping you stick to the pole better.
ā ļø Use sparingly!Ā If you apply too much, wash your hands or wipe them with vodka before reapplying.
6ļøā£ A bottle of waterš§
Staying hydrated helps regulate body fluids and improves overall performance. It may not seem like much, but your body will thank you! ā£ļø
